Services we provide at Woodworks at Lakeside Farm

We operate a Timberking 2200 bandsaw mill. You may select the wood for your project from our inventory of slabs and dimension lumber. In addition, you may decide to select a tree from our forest that we will harvest and mill to your specifications. We offer you the opportunity to participate in the harvesting and milling of selected trees. Custom milling of logs that you provide is available upon request.

Minimum:  2 hours                               

The rule of thumb is that it takes one year per inch of thickness to air dry wood. We use a Vacutherm iDRY  kiln to dry our wood. Using a vacuum process, we can dry wood in a matter of weeks rather than years. In addition, kiln drying kills the bugs that reside in wood, avoiding any unwanted surprises crawling out of your finished project. We offer kiln drying services to those wishing to have their own wood dried in our kiln.

Cost:  $.20/foot/day in kiln      

Maximum Length:  13 feet 

We use a Jointa Wood slab flattening and surfacing machine. Once the wood is flattened, this machine sands the slabs, producing a surface superior to other slab flattening processes. The result is a significant reduction in the time needed to finish sand your project. We offer flattening and sanding services for those wishing to have their own slabs flattened and sanded.
