Each piece of wood has a unique story to tell…we tell those stories. Before we harvest a tree from the forest of Lakeside Farm we take a photo of the tree, calculate its age, and document all the steps in its transformation from a standing tree to dried, flattened pieces of wood. You will further transform our wood into something special. Knowing the history of that wood will make your finished product even more meaningful. .
A variety of hardwood and softwood species grow in the forest of Lakeside Farm. Our softwoods are pine and hemlock. We have a variety of hardwoods that include red oak, hard and soft maple, ash, beech, poplar, and black birch. We are fortunate to have a few hickory and cherry trees.
Our primary focus is the production of live edge wood slabs that have been milled, kiln dried, and flattened at Lakeside Farm. Custom milled dimensional lumber is available by request. We charge by the board foot and our charges vary by the species of wood.
